ACDSee Photo Manager 12 Editor's Review

Manage your entire photo collection with this must have Windows tool.

In an age where everything is going digital, it’s likely that you’ve got digital music, digital movies and an app for almost everything. You’ve also likely got your photos digitized or are working on getting everything digitized.  You’ve also more than likely got a digital camera and are taking tons of photos with it.  The only thing you have to do now, is figure out what to do with them. That’s why I like applications like ACDSee Photo Manager 12. It’s a digital photo manager for Windows.

ACDSee Photo Manager 12 is fast; and its viewing speed is second to none.  You can open photos from anywhere on your computer or from your e-mail account with amazing speed. You can zoom through your latest shots, browse them instantly in slide show mode, and enjoy full-size previews. Unlike catalog-based photo applications, you don’t need to spend time importing files that are already on your computer and connected devices. You can access your folders and files in real time. You’ll be able to sort, group and filter photos by camera information, edited state or other criteria for super fast scanning. You can also browse your photos by date or event and see photos from a specific occasion.

ACDSee Photo Manager 12 also helps you organize your photo collection.  You can specify categories, set keywords and create backups as you upload photos from your camera, card reader or other device. ACDSee Photo Manager 12 is flexible.  Unlike other photo software, it doesn't impose a one-size-fits-all system to your organization. You can create custom categories, add keywords, edit a photo’s metadata, and rate your shots. You can also tag your best shots and bring them all together for further editing or sharing.

When you’re ready to share your photos with the world, ACDSee Photo Manager 12 helps you find them quickly with its Quick Search bar. You can even save specific searches so you can reuse them. Once found, it’s easy to share photos online. You can simply drag and drop files from your computer or connected devices, to your own, personal, 2 GB of free, storage space on ACDSeeOnline.com.

App Pro’s: Powerful editing tools, fast

App Con’s: Pricey

Conclusion: ACDSee Photo Manager 12 is a decent app.  It’s easy to use and provides some decent organizational and editing tools.  With the demise of Kodak EasyShare and other similar apps, ACDSee Photo Manager 12 is a good choice if you’re looking for alternatives, or for something different.  The app is a bit on the pricey side, so be ready to spend a little bit of money. However, the app provides a great deal of value and is well worth the purchase price.
